June 11, arriving midnight into Beijing, you would think that they were sleepy. Instead they were filled with excitement and looking forward to their adventures in Beijing.

Then, something wonderful happened to Mandy. She met her old classmate whom she had not seen for a very long time. Of all the places, in Beijing airport (it’s a very small world).

Despite being occupied with practices and rehearsals every day, Yuki and Mandy had managed to find time to engage and take photos with the Mediacorp and China artistes.  For Yuki, it was a deep insightful experience personally and professionally.  Also, Starry Starry Night had given good opportunities to Mandy and Yuki that stretched and diversified their capabilities beyond belly dance genre. From choreographing dance moves, acting and singing it has brought their hidden talents to shine.

These pictures will speak a thousand words on their insights and journey in Starry Starry Night.

Yuki and Mandy arrived in Beijing on Jun 11 at midnight.

It was a week of practices and rehearsals. They went to a dance school. The dance studio was huge! It could hold up to 150 people.

The Chinese dancers were similar height of 1.75m (for ladies) 1.85m (for guys) – dancing all their lives full time about 17 to 28 years. When they danced the ladies were very feminine. Men are very macho.

It was Mandy’s first taste of original Sichuan cuisine. It was so spicy and oily that her mouth got numbed!
