BDD Harem Nite For Members

It’s a Bellydance party for our members and your female friends. Kids are welcome too.

It will be a night that women from different dance class and walk of lives to share their passion and celebrate women hood.

There will be lots of fun, laughter, food and dance.

If you want, you may display your talents during the party you’re most welcome.

You can perform any dance, doesn’t have to be Bellydance or even reciting poetry, rapping singing and so on.

Date: 10 July 2010, Saturday

Time: 7.00pm - 10.30pm

Venue: BDD Studio

Cost: FOC

Food: POTLUCK (Food serving for about 10 paxs will do.)

Strip Down Event

Bellydance Discovery will be participating the event as stated below. Please come down and support us!

Tickets are sold at out studio at $15 only.

Our Performance Time: Between 5.00pm - 10.00pm

Venue: Boiler Room at St James

The Strip Show will be an annual event that features Artists and Talents from mainly Singapore.

A fantastic platform that has never been created and a fantastic “live” show is being organized to only proof one point.

The best of Singapore from every corner to exhibit their sense of artistry and to show that WE CAN be ARTISTS ourselves!

The strip show was inspired by Mel.dnirmala, a local author who conceptualized the idea of displaying our various passions in ONE singular event.

We hope the launch of her first book will catapult her to becoming renowned in the circle of authors. This first ever event, THE STRIP SHOW, will mark its way to a Media Programme, introducing new artists each year, awarding the Singapore Arts and Music scene, due recognition it deserves.

The workshops by Fatima will be held on 8 & 9 Aug at BDD Studio. We will inform everyone when the the registration starts.

"My name is Fatima Serin, I am professional dancer, teacher and choreographer for traditional Middle Eastern dance (also called bellydance). I grew up in Turkey and moved to Germany when I was 14 years old. There I also started my bellydance career and over the years developed into an internationally known and established dancer with a broad experience in teaching as well as dancing." Fatima Serin

Raks Sharqi , classical Egyptian dance - technique and choreograph

(Need to complete Beg.4 level)

We will learn an elegant raks sharqi choreography in the very traditional Egyptian style. A lively entree and final, beautiful and sensual taqasim passages, precise and refined accents, beautiful step combinations, hot moves. The focus will be on how to visualize the instrumentalisation in the dance!

Drum solo choreography (Need to complete Beg.4 level)
In this workshop we will learn an energetic drum solo, with the obligational shimmies and accomplished accents. The ideal portfolio element for every dancer that likes to embody the zest for life with her dancing!
