|Hui Fang dreams to be a dancer. She used to put up with chronic back pain, poor alignment & bad body posture, which has now improved. Bellydance classes are too expensive and unaffordable back then. Now when she is famous and able to afford it, she has no time for it. Finally, she decided to put aside her work and make time for bellydance classes with us.
Words from Yuki:
“Hui Fang started 5 months ago and has proven that every women can dance with some time and effort.”
|Lily had never learnt any dance classes in the past and bellydancing is her dream. She is already in her 70s and proves to everyone that it is never too late to chase your dream. Lily is happier, confident and has a curvier body ever since she started the path to her dream.
Words from Yuki:
“Never too old to dance! Lily challenges herself to dance and even though she cannot remember her choreography, she thoroughly enjoys the process of learning & dancing.”
|Jennifer is born with scoliosis that limited her physically and went through surgeries since tender age. Her back is currently supported by a long metal rod and has been advised by doctors not to exert herself physically. However, no physical limitation can impede Jennifer’s passion in dance. Her passion in bellydance grows so strong that she even went through almost a year of professional dance training in 2009/2010 with Bellydance Discovery..
Words from Yuki:
“Strong, positive & determination are the 3 best words to describe Jennifer. I have pushed her to share her past with other because I know she can motivate & inspire those who have physical limitation to dance.”
|Maggie, in her 50s now decides to fulfil her second passion apart from her successful spa business. She does not have the typical feminine built. She is tall with very stiff body and could not move smoothly initially.
Words from Yuki:
“Maggie had been taking bellydance classes casually for years and until recently, she gets more serious. She even took part in dance competition. Maggie has become the inspiration of many people around her who do not dare to dance. I look forward to share her passion with others by fulfilling her dream of being an Instructor.”
|Amelia was born as a premature baby and can hardly stand or walk until she is 4 years old. She was restricted from many physical activities since young. Multiple accidents had affected her knees and self-confidence. Despite these, she never gave up, especially after discovering bellydancing.. Now her health is improving and she gain much more confidence through bellydancing for the past 2 years.
Words from Yuki:
“Amelia started dancing with absolutely zero control over her feet and body but now she could easily turn 16 perfect windmills without much effort. She has proven dancing is for any woman & I’m proud of her”
|Bellydancing is not only a fun form of work-out as compared to boring jogging sessions, it also helps me in building self confidence as I learn to love every part of my body in order to dance well. The greatest benefit I gained from bellydancing would be the short 3 hr labor when I gave birth to my baby girl last year! The pelvic exercises and muscles isolation techniques which are core basics of bellydancing has helped me go through a short and smooth labor process. I would definitely continue bellydancing and would recommend this dance to my friends!

|Mandy, my instructor, always wears a smile & is never a dull moment watching her dancing instructions.
I can never spot in her any sign of restlessness, impatience & displeasure.
I like her unique warm up & cool down exercises.
She is quick to point out error & unflattering moves.
She praises wholeheartedly when students make improvements.
I always look forward to Mandy’s class.

Sad that my beginner 1 is over so quickly and i have to wait for 2 weeks before the next lesson commences. However i’m also glad that at least this time round i manage to finish the course (unlike previously) and i believe the main reason is having you as my instructor!you are not only patient and encouraging in your selfless coaching but your instructions and demonstrations are clear and motivating. i can feel your genuine and earnest joy in imparting the dance to us in every class, making sure each and every one of us know the techniques and steps. Most important, you are sensitive and non-judgmental to our learning, thus not only strongly motivating me but giving me space to enjoy the dance. Your class is always fun and further livened by your light-hearted jokes.Merrry christmas to you and hope to have you as my instructor for future classes.
Thank you ^-^

|I would like to extend my appreciation to yourself and the instructors at Belly Dance for your passion, dedication and patience in coaching students like myself who need more time in getting the moves and techniques right. In particular, would like to highlight the following instructors:
- Shamilah – Being my first instructor here, her warmth and sense of fun was crucial in getting elementary students to be at ease. Her patience and encouragement spurs students to continue with belly dancing.
- Mandy – My first lesson with her was actually a make-up class. However, that did not deter her from keeping a lookout for me despite the fact that the class size was relatively large that day (more than 15). Her warm-up is rigourous and carefully thought through, to ensure that the students are able to get the basics right while taking into considerations the choreography of the dance. As she knew that I am repeating the beginners’ level, she continue to keep a lookout for me, and ensures high standard in getting the basics right. Her drills are vital in ensuring a solid foundation for the higher levels. Her patience and constant encouragement strengthens students’ faith that they are able to master belly dance.
- Fiona – My third instructor here at Belly Discovery. She’s very patient and caring. She makes an effort to remember student’s name. There was once I was absent from class and to my surprise, she actually remembered and even reminded me to go for make up lesson. I was very impressed when she was able to tell me the date and time of the make up class. This was really exceptional because I know that the instructors have many classes and many students and I really don’t expect them to (and no, I’m not expecting them to now ). Fiona’s patience and encouragement is instrumental in fueling my determination to continue with belly dancing.
- Yuki – Being the guru, she’s not only good in her craft but is an also excellent teacher; something that I truly appreciate. Her humble and down-to-earth disposition is admirable and is something that her students find endearing. In the 2 brief sessions that I was with her, I was struck by her ability to remember each student’s strengths and weaknesses. Thank you for your patience and guidance in the 2 sessions that I was with you.
Thank you once again and here’s wishing you an early blessed Christmas.
